Viagra

Generic Viagra is the first and the most popular medication used to treat male erectile dysfunction. Its active ingredient is sildenafil citrate. It improves blood flow to the male genital area. The muscles of the cavernous body are relaxed, then the penis is filled with blood, and a man achieves an erection sufficient to perform sexual intercourse. The drug has no effect on the brain and does not cause artificial sexual desire. An erection is achieved only if a man is sexually aroused.

What is Viagra?

Viagra was developed as a drug for lowering blood pressure. In the course of clinical trials, scientists have noticed the unique ability of the drug to increase potency.

Generic Viagra is an exact chemical clone of the branded drug. Therefore, it has the same composition and action as the original. But its price is several times lower than the cost of the branded drug.

It is recommended to buy generic Viagra if you are suffering from erectile dysfunction and impaired potency. It is taken if an erection is completely absent or weak. The drug will help if intimate problems are caused by organic, psychological and mixed factors.

But this product is not an aphrodisiac or hormonal drug, therefore, it does not have a stimulating effect: sexual desire appears naturally, only under the influence of stimulation. Therefore, when taking these pills, you should not worry that a hard erection will occur at the most inappropriate time.

Who should not take Viagra?

Do not take Viagra if:

  • you are allergic to sildenafil or any of the ingredients of this drug;
  • you have low blood pressure;
  • you suffer from rare inherited eye diseases (such as retinitis pigmentosa).
  • you are taking medications to treat angina pectoris (chest pain);
  • you are taking drugs that contain nitrates, (a combination of these drugs with sildenafil can lead to a dangerous decrease in blood pressure);
  • you are taking drugs poppers (drugs related to nitric oxide donors), such as amyl nitrite (the combination of these drugs with sildenafil can lead to a dangerous drop in your blood pressure);
  • you have recently suffered a stroke or heart attack;
  • you are taking other drugs to treat erectile dysfunction;
  • you have serious heart or liver problems;
  • you are not suffering from erectile dysfunction;
  • you have ever lost vision due to anterior ischemic optic neuropathy;
  • you are a woman, child or adolescent.

How to use Viagra for best results?

Generic Viagra is available in several dosages (25mg, 50mg, 100mg, 150 mg, etc.) Start with the lowest dose. If you do not get the expected result, consult your doctor and he will determine the best dose for your condition.

You can take this drug only once a day. Do not take Viagra at a dose higher than your doctor has recommended to you.

Your doctor may prescribe a lower dose of sildenafil (25 mg) in some cases, for example, if you suffer from a severe kidney or liver disease, if you are taking protease inhibitors used to treat HIV infection, or if you have problems with the prostate gland or high blood pressure.

Take the pill about 1 hour before the planned sex. It will start working in about 30 minutes and will last for about 4 hours. The drug will only be effective in the presence of sexual stimulation. The drug will work better if taken on an empty stomach. If you take the pill after a fatty meal, it will have an effect a little later.

Drinking alcohol may impair your ability to have an erection. To get the maximum effect from taking Viagra, it is not recommended to combine it with alcohol.

What may interact with this drug?

When using Viagra pills, you need to stop taking any antidepressants.

Besides, you cannot combine sildenafil tablets with narcotic drugs, painkillers, sleeping pills, anesthetics, and any medications that contain nitrates.

What should I watch for while taking this drug?

Only a doctor can decide if you need to take Viagra. The drug can cause a slight decrease in blood pressure, so you may need to undergo a medical examination to confirm a diagnosis of erectile dysfunction and also find out that you can take these pills without risk to your health, including with other drugs prescribed for you. Your doctor must find out if your heart can withstand the stress of having sex.

Be sure to tell your doctor if you have a penile deformity (Peyronie’s disease) or have ever had an erection lasting more than 4 hours.

Alcoholic beverages have a negative effect on the overall well-being of the human body. The combination of Viagra with alcohol can cause undesirable consequences, such as disruption in the functioning of the liver and kidneys. It can also lead to an increase in the load on the heart and weakening the effect of the drug.

If you exceed the recommended dosage, side effects may occur. Since the consequences can be serious, you’d better not increase the dose of the drug without a doctor’s consultation.

If you have weak immunity, you can feel dizziness and drowsiness after taking this drug.

Since sildenafil can cause dizziness and visual impairment in some cases, you must make sure that you do not have these disorders before you drive a car or start operating machinery.

What are the side effects of taking Viagra?

Adverse reactions can be provoked by an incorrectly selected dosage of the drug. However, side effects are short-lived and moderate. The higher the dosage, the greater the risk of adverse reactions. The most common side effects include:

  • allergy to the active substance of the drug (skin rash);
  • headaches and discomfort in the lumbar spine;
  • visual impairment (redness of the pupils, decreased vision, etc.);
  • pain in the ears, partial hearing loss;
  • nasal congestion;
  • malfunctions of the cardiovascular system (lowering blood pressure, hot flashes, a heart attack);
  • metabolic disorders (swelling, gout, nausea).

How to store the medicine?

You should store Viagra in a dark place at a temperature of 25°C (77°F). The packaging should be kept closed, out of the reach of children. Also, the medicine should not be exposed to direct sunlight and contact with water. Do not use tablets after the expiration date.
