I know there are differences of opinion about our president, and that’s fine. What I cannot abide is the cover of my new issue of Prism. I have been a member for a very long time and do not ever recall ASEE serving as a cheerleader for an administration in such an overt manner. We can all agree to disagree about the way MY and YOUR tax dollars (and ASEE membership dollars) are spent, and the direction the country is going. However, I am appalled that a professional organization would place this type of what I consider to be propaganda on its cover.
Unfortunately, as I see ASEE become more and more left-leaning (e.g., blind support of a global warming agenda), I continue to wonder two things. (1) What happened to the organization I joined that was focused on the education of the next generation of engineers? (2) What is the value I get, as an educator, for my membership?
I certainly hope the bias and cheerleading in the current issue of Prism will not be repeated in the future.
