ENGINEERING NUMBERS MOVING UP

Last year, a total of 62,632 bachelor's degrees were awarded in engineering. An additional 8,317 students earned computer science degrees in colleges of engineering, which brings the total number of engineering degrees to 70,949. Full-time undergraduate enrollment climbed to almost 374,000, a 13 percent increase since 1999.
