Computation Software
Research Engineers
International (REI), a division of netGuru, Inc. has recently developed
Sectionwizard, a software product that quickly and accurately calculates
section properties for custom or assembled shapes.
Sectionwizard, expected to be of particular value to structural, civil
and mechanical engineers and architects, enables engineers and architects
to: calculate section properties such as area, moment of inertia, section
modulus, center of gravity, shear center, and torsional constants; create
custom shapes from built-in sections and plates; and compute stresses
at any point of a cross section, among other features.
The
software is compatible with metric and imperial unit systems, and is fully
integrated with STAAD.Pro softwarepermitting quick, one-step export
of data, and production of written reports and STAAD user tables.
Sectionwizard costs $695. For purchase, call 1-800-FOR-RESE. You may download
a demo from the Web at www.reiworld.com.
Product descriptions
are based on manufacturers' literature. Endorsement by ASEE is not
implied.
