The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provided $21.5 billion for scientific research and development, including the purchase of scientific equipment and support for science-related construction projects. The following totals represent the portion of ARRA research funds reported* to ScienceWorksForUS by the more than 200 universities that are members of the Association of American Universities, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, and the Science Coalition. Amounts do not necessarily reflect all ARRA-funded research activity in each state.
