Wind Energy
The Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position starting in 2009. We seek an outstanding individual who is committed to education and the establishment of an externally-funded research program in the area of wind energy. The search is directed primarily at the Associate or Full Professor level and is affiliated with the Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment (PSIEE).
Of interest is research leading to improved rotor design, increased efficiency and greater longevity of wind turbines. Specific areas of interest include: aeroelasticity (blade deformation, vibration and stability), aerodynamics (unsteady loading, dynamic stall, and turbulence), structures (advanced materials, composites, elasticity), aeroservoelasticity (load-mitigating control, flow-control devices, sensors and actuators), and integrated wind-turbine design. General areas of interest include: wind resource assessment and siting, atmospheric boundary layer interactions, energy storage and distribution, systems engineering and design, and wind energy economics and policy. A research program with an experimental component would be advantageous.
The ideal candidate will have an earned doctoral degree, with research related to one of the areas above with specific concentration in wind energy, or have commensurate post-doctoral experience. The successful candidate will interact with other members of an interdisciplinary cross-campus wind energy group, and will provide leadership in the development of new collaborative initiatives. This individual will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission by developing new courses relevant to wind energy and by contributing to the advancement of academic programs in sustainable energy.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering, founded in 2006 following a 35-year history as a research Center,

We have expertise in five biomedical engineering “domains” including: Bioimaging; Biomaterials;

Technology. The combined technical, core, and clinical research facilities of the College of Engineering, College
of Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Mathematical Biosciences Institute, Nanotech West, and the Ohio
Supercomputer Center provide unique and comprehensive resources for biomedical engineering research and
education at Ohio State.
We welcome applications from exceptional candidates who augment our existing domains of bioengineering
expertise and who can establish collaborations with our health sciences colleagues. In addition to a strong record
of research accomplishment, high-impact publications, and current extramural peer-reviewed funding, we seek a

Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Bucknell University seeks outstanding applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the entry-level, assistant professor rank starting in August 2009. Qualified applicants may have, at the time of appointment, no more than four years of full-time teaching experience after receipt of the doctorate. The College of Science, Engineering and Technology at Murray State University is seeking applicants for the Chair of the Department of Engineering and Physics. Civil and Environmental Engineering
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan Tech invites applications for a tenure-track environmental engineering faculty position. We are seeking an individual with expertise and interests in environmental process engineering with an emphasis in biological process fundamentals. Preference will be given to candidates having a strong background in innovative molecular biology tools to understand, model, and optimize biological processes and in the production of energy and recovery of resources from engineered biological systems.
