Calls for Papers European Society for
Engineering Education (SEFI) The SEFI 2001 Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, has issued a call for papers. The conference will focus upon the changing paradigm of engineering education. Topic questions will include:
- What are the new engineering competencies?
How does the new paradigm affect the balance between knowledge and competencies?
What new and motivating teaching and evaluation methods will the new paradigm call for?
What will be the new role of the teacher and of the student?
Information and Communication Technology - a tool and an objective?

. International Conference on Mechatronic Design and Modeling The 5th International Conference on Mechatronic Design and Modeling will
be held in Ankara, Turkey, on September 5-7, 2001. Papers concerning methods, applications, case studies and software development in the topics of mechatronic design, system modeling, control, sensors, actuators, and mechatronic

(the Engineering College of Copenhagen), an international team of students works on a real-world project, carefully chosen to match their specialties and capabilities; the language of communication is English. Subjects included in

Continuing Engineering Education will be having their 8th World Conference on Continuing Engineering Education in Toronto on May 12-16, 2001, hosted by the Professional Development Center of the University of Toronto. Topics to be
discussed will include emerging technologies for distance education, effectiveness of new learning technologies, engineering ethics in continuing engineering, changing needs of industry, marketing continuing engineering education
